Q. Is Acoustic Knights a Folk Club?
A. No it’s not a folk club but singers and performers of folk music are more than welcome and some of our future Guest Artists are in the Folk idiom. No acoustic music club would be complete without the folk and roots genre.
Q. Why does it cost £2 entrance?
A. We do not only have floor singers but also have a Guest Artist. The entrance fee is not enough to cover the calibre of artist we are currently enjoying at the club. For many of our Guests this only covers expenses and we always encourage our audience to buy a CD to help cover the artist costs. This is by no means covering the cost of the room, heating, PA etc.etc. Our Major thanks go out to the Royal Arms for helping us so much.
Q. I’m in a rock band, would I be welcome?
A. Yes, as long as you do an acoustic set. Eric Clapton performs “unplugged” gigs along with many other top bands and artists. If Mr Clapton turned up at the gig I do not think we would turn him away!
Q. I’m only just getting started would I be welcome?
A. Yes, every one of our Guest Artists and performers probably started in the same way. If asked, many of them will also give you help and tips to improve your performance. We are not vampires but we always need new blood.
